"Here is the feedback from a fantastic time my boyfriend and I had in the Derby Dales. We both enjoyed the experience immensely, as did the two horses, who were absolute stars. Although some of the bridleways were quite hard, they were perfectly manageable and the scenery spectacular. Thank you for a fantastic time .... Katie Grant".
The photo above looks suspiciously like a rider's eye view of Long Dale, where you can see the bridleway snaking away along the valley bottom. Some of the old drove routes do have hard surfaces - specially at the end of May 2004 after several consecutive weeks of dry weather - but the views more than compensate.

On the left is a close up of Katie. We like it because it shows the surprisingly green countryside of the southern Peak District.
