The Manifold Dales
The Manifold Dales are in the southern (or White) Peak District, on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border. It's a small network and there are not many bridleways, so we use specially converted disused railway lines such as the High Peak Trail and the Tissington Trail to link them together.

Scenically, it's one of the best networks - a limestone plateau about 1,000 feet high, with beautiful gorge-like dales. Up on the hills, there's a patchwork of dry-stone walls with grassy tracks between them.

A big attraction is easy access - 50% of the population of England live within 50 miles of Buxton.

Small network with just 2 days of place-to-place riding plus a one-centre holiday with 3 petal or day-rides (ie returning to same base each day). You can combine them to make a 3 or 4 day ride. In terms of terrain, the disused railways we used to link the bridleways together are easy, but there are some steep hills on the sections in between. OK for mountain-biking - again disused railway lines are easy, but be prepared for hills elsewhere. No stables.
