The North Cotswolds
What can we say about such a well-known part of England? This is lovely countryside - small-scale and intimate with gentle hills and small valleys and fields, so the scenery changes rapidly. You'll see farms, hamlets, country-houses, barns, gardens and Cotswold stone villages.

The western (Gloucestershire) side of the network has more hills and woods, with some dramatic views from the top of the escarpment over Cheltenham Racecourse and the Vale of Evesham. The eastern (Oxfordshire) side extends north across the Warwickshire border and is gentler, with more country houses and villages.

The network is in 2 separate halves.

In the western half (around Stow-on-the Wold and Blockley in Gloucestershire) there's a one-centre holiday near Stow with 3 petal or day-rides. There are also a couple of different 2-day rides back-to-start, plus new 3 and 4 day ride options which extend the network to Woodmancote (north of Cheltenham) and Murcot in the Vale of Evesham. You can combine the place-to-place and petal rides to make up to 5 days riding.

The eastern half covers the northern half of Oxfordshire extending up into Warkwickshire. We re-rode this part of the network and developed new rides in April 2007 - and there are now 3 one-centre holidays near Charlbury, Sibford Ferris and Ascott-under-Wychwood with up to 3 petal rides each. You can also do 2 and 3-day place to place rides between them. Many more rides are possible if you combine place -to-place rides and petals, with up to 6 days riding available in all.

Good for stables - at least 2 are available at all stops except Sibford Ferris. OK for mountain-bikes, specially the gentler terrain in the east.
