We don't accept lone riders because you don't meet many other people out in the country, so the risks are obvious in the event of an accident. If you'd like to do a bridle-ride and need a co-rider, you can put your details on this page so that someone else in a similar position can contact you.

Alice Ince is 31 and lives near Bexley in Kent. She owns a 15 hand Irish cob who is good in company and happy to go at any pace. She is initially looking to do some 2-3 hour rides in Kent or Surrey with a view to booking a longer 2-3 day bridle ride a bit further afield later in the summer, possibly in Sussex. Alice also has her own transport but can only carry one horse, so she'd need to meet you at the start. Katherine Quinlan is in her mid twenties and has a very sane but fun 16 hand Irish Sport Horse gelding. She would like to ride in Cranborne Chase this year, but she is happy to be flexible and go to any of our networks within a couple of hours drive from her home in Surrey - and although she doesn't have her own transport, she is happy to share or meet you at the start of the ride. Katherine is a non-smoker who thinks that a quietish drink at the end of the day sounds great. She says "I am just looking to enjoy the scenery, walk, trot, canter and have the odd gallop - but most of all the luxury of just enjoying a long hack at leisure with not much roadwork or time constraints!" Carol Ellis is a "fortysomething from Essex" with a 15 hand 15 year old Welsh Cob who would like to try a 2 day ride in either Bedford or Norfolk for starters. She says "I'd like a few canters, but generally like to take things easy. I do have my own trailer, but would probably hire as these two networks are a bit further than I normally go. I'm easy to get on with, happy to share a bottle of wine and pretty laid back. Apart from the bottle of wine bit, that describes my horse too!" Catherine Reynolds is 55 and has been back in the saddle for 6 years after a 31 year break. She has a new horse this year, and is used to doing 15 mile rides all over Norfolk. Her horse is well behaved in company, doesn't kick or bite - and is "up for speed" given half a chance, but will pootle along on the buckle end if spoken to severely! Catherine has a Renault Master lorry, so could collect another horse en-route to the venue. Jennie Vigers lives in Redditch (North Worcestershire area) and owns a 15 hand, 6 year old coloured Irish gelding called Jack. She says "I would love to go on a Bridle Ride, but need company. I'm in my 30s, and myself and Jack love a pint". Jennie has her own transport but, because she doesn't have a 4 x 4, she only has a single horse trailer - so she would need to meet you at the start. Tanya Manser is a 37 and has a 6 year old 13.2 Fjord mare who is "a very sensible horse and is happy to go at any pace, but I'd prefer not to go flat out. I'm based in Norfolk and have my own transport, but I'm happy to travel 2-3 hours to find a nice route as long as there's a nice glass of wine waiting in the evening". Julie Nicholas is 29 and hails from near Wells in Somerset. She owns a 14.2 Highland gelding and a 14.1 Fell mare who are both bomb proof and great fun. Julie is happy to go at all paces, but would like the odd gallop - and she also has her own 2 horse lorry, so could either collect you on the way to a bridle ride or meet you at the start-point. She would like to go anywhere within a 2 hour drive from home, which includes Exmoor, Dorset and all the networks in Wiltshire (ie. Cranborne Chase, the Great Ridge and the Wansdyke). Angela Williams would love to do a 2-3 day ride this summer. She's 45 and owns Taddy, a 15 year old 15.1 hand TB gelding who is "good in every way. He is fairly forward going but very safe, and likes to have a controlled canter!" Angela lives in Leicestershire and would like to do the Rutland Rides or Bedford Rides network as it's her first time, and she's only owned Taddy for a few months. Hazel Dymond lives in Somerset and would like to try a Bridle Ride within a 2 hour box journey of home, which includes the Exmoor, Dorset, Cranborne Chase, Great Ridge, Wansdyke and North and South Cotswolds networks. Hazel is 28 and rides a 14.1 Welsh x Arab gelding that she describes as "not always sensible, but nothing too bad!" She also has her own lorry and would be happy to collect you if you aren't too far out of the way. In terms of her riding aspirations, she is "happy to go at most speeds, but I also like to enjoy the scenery and wouldn't want to go flat out". Hazel also describes herself as "easy to get on with and, like others, I would enjoy a drink after a day's ride. I'd prefer to go with someone around my own age, but I'm not too fussy as long as my companion is easy going, likes a laugh and wishes to enjoy the riding and their horse!"
